For the NZ Women’s Health Week, held from 10-16 August, our six questions have looked at what happens when women’s health experiences don’t fit neatly into the way healthcare is structured, from making informed decisions before surgery, to finding appropriate treatment and support afterwards.
For those of us experiencing surgical menopause, the answer to these questions affects how we prepare for surgery, how we recover, how we access treatment, and how we live afterwards.
Surgical menopause is one part of women’s health that still needs greater understanding, not only from the women experiencing it, but from the healthcare system meant to support them.
Which question from this week made you stop and think?
