Online resources & support groups
The resources below include official organisations, healthcare professionals, support groups, and advocacy communities. A few things worth keeping in mind:
- Official organisations generally offer evidence-based information, though medical understanding evolves and women’s health has historically been under-researched. Use guidelines as a foundation, not a final word.
- Support groups are valuable for peer connection and lived experience, but information shared in these spaces is not clinical advice. Most are volunteer-led. Use them alongside professional care, not instead of it.
- Social media can be a powerful tool for awareness and connection, but not all sources are accurate or trustworthy. Always verify health information with your clinical team before making decisions.
We encourage a mindset of critical awareness and self-advocacy — and we’d love to hear about resources we should add. Get in touch at info@surgicalmenopause.org.nz
